AMERICAN KAHANI
BLUE13’S PREMIERE DANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM
Blue13’s premiere education program is geared for Early Childhood-5th Grade audiences of 5-200 students, and features four world class dancers. Through this 45-60 minute work, the program uses rhythm, dance, and oration to explore the different ways in which Indian Americans tell stories. Blue13 highlights how universal the art of storytelling can be, and uses Indian folk, classical, and Bollywood dance forms to do so. Students may learn new words in Hindi, help tell the stories with interactive dance gestures and mudras, or even join the dancers on stage to actively participate in the storytelling.
This program is FREE to Title-1 schools. If you or someone you know is interested in bringing American Kahani to their school or after-school program, connect with us at info@blue13dance.com.
Blue13 strives to integrate intergenerational and accessible viewpoints into all of our education programs and community engagements. To put it simply, we live by our motto, “ABIDE” (Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity). Blue13 is renowned for its interactive dance events, working with the County of Los Angeles, The Music Center, and many other cultural institutions to share the joy of dance with our communities.
We are the original and most popular source for Los Angeles Bollywood community activations, dance classes, Indian dance workshops, choreography, and master classes. We also develop and teach choreography in other styles including ballet, contemporary, and more, for studios, private clients, schools, and organizations of all sizes.
Blue13 is a woman-founded, BIPOC company that lives to serve diverse communities in an accessible and equitable way. Please reach out to us with any thoughts or concerns, so that we can serve your community well!
