Kaya McAfee was 17 years old when she graduated from her home studio, Steps Dance Center after nearly 7 years. She went on to work as a choreographer’s assistant to her mentors, Karlo and Angelina Familara, setting work on multiple studios across the Midwest, including Flexpoint Dance, Woodbury Dance Center, Move Out Loud, Dance Xplosion, as well as the Chicago Bulls dancers, the Luvabulls.

Kaya also began her season with Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention’s Pro Company (led by Brooke Lipton). This allowed her to travel to several cities and assist faculty members throughout convention weekends. In this time, she was able to work closely with faculty members like Kevin Maher, Liz Imperio, Alexa Anderson, Kent Boyd, and more!

The following year in June of 2023, Kaya moved to Los Angeles and quickly found her way to Blue 13. She is so excited to join them for her first season!
